great commentary on that whole Gates thing. I couldn't agree more!
I remember being pulled over by a Bettendorf cop for speeding, something like 42 in a 35 mph zone. I drove to the nearest side street and parked. I was trying to avoid a high-traffic area, mostly to not cause an accident! My car was new at the time. Anyway, he yelled at me asking me why didn't i pull over immediately. I told him why and i muttered ya jerk at the end. He was walking away and came back at me and screamed "What did you say?" I said, "i called you a jerk cuz you're yelling at me." and i said, "who do you thinking you're talking to anyway?" He was this muscled, middle-aged cop screaming at me, a harmless older woman on her way to work. I mean, how abusive can these guys get? I know I should show respect for cops, but i won't do it if they show none for me.
