Teen TV star, Miley Cyrus, recent made some comments on her Twitter account giving her view of what Jesus, Christianity and God have to say on the subject of gay marriage
Everyone deserves to love and be loved and most importantly smile.
Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That’s like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz he’s gay and that is wrong and very sad!
Like I said everyone deserves to be happy.
God’s greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving.
I am a Christian and I love you - gay or not - because you are no different than anyone else! We are all God’s children.
The OneMillionMom.com website took great exception to those statements on their website and in an email. They seem to have removed the statement from their website but it can still be found on the web, for example here.
Such statements will send the wrong message to our children who are influenced by this teenage megastar. Parents need to realize that Cyrus is not the positive role model she was once thought to be.

Onehundredmom.com is fighting an uphill battle. “Popular culture” in this country decided some years ago that gays ought not to be considered sub-human, that guy men and women ought to have the same basic human rights as all other people. Why would these “moms” think that (popular culture figure) Hannah Montana would not hold up-to-date popular culture beliefs.
These “moms” are certainly going to fail in their campaign to deny some people this fundamental right to marriage. A study of history would show them that marriage has long been considered a basic right, indeed a religious right. Prior to the Civil War, abolitionists used marriage as one of their strongest arguments against slavery. Slave owners did not allow or recognize slave marriages and this was a big factor in arousing the public from their historic apathy toward the slaver system. Strangely, it was not the bloody whippings or the hanging of blacks the aroused northern anger. Slave owners became evil sinners, however, when they denied slaves the right to live in holy matrimony.
